The Open Roads Leadership Conferences were created to provide a
professional development opportunity that gives educators a chance to
step back and take a look at their journey, to reflect upon
and share lessons learned, while setting ambitious goals for the open
road ahead. The focus on helping leaders realize their potential will
be done using Micheal Easter’s, “The Comfort Crisis”, as the backdrop
for conference sessions. These t3-4 day conferences will be centered on
three core pillars of inquiry:

• Creativity inside & outside our comfort zones

• Techniques for expanding belief systems

• Nature as a tool for mental health

We will leverage the power of the awe-inspiring natural environment of Hocking Hills and Sedona, Arizona to establish a collaborative community of leaders who can openly share, critique and examine how to improve our given practice and accelerate the growth and performance of our teams, students or community.

 

Intentional time spent in nature will be combined with self reflection and guided conversation to drive profound emotional and mental health benefits. With that in mind, there will be ample time to simply take deep breaths, and enjoy.

 

Hocking Hills

November 5-8, 2026

Participants will stay together near Hocking Hills State Park, with private bedrooms, shared meals, guided outdoor experiences, and professionally facilitated leadership sessions.

The experience includes:

• Guided hikes through Hocking Hills

• Outdoor leadership sessions

• Meditation and wellness practices

• Group discussions and reflection

• Family-style dinners and evening gatherings

• Stargazing and digital detox opportunities

• Time to pause, breathe, and recharge

No prior hiking or outdoor experience is required, only an openness to new experiences and meaningful conversation.

Includes: lodging, transportation to/from Sri-C materials, and meals Thurs. evening - Sunday morning
