In addition to leading Open Roads outdoor adventures and managing Open Roads Magazine, Sam is a dynamic and passionate artist. She is dedicated to building communities, fostering creativity, and promoting environmental sustainability. With a keen interest in learning and growing through experiences, Sam finds joy in watching and helping others succeed.

Driven by core values of creating community bonds, serving others, and connecting to the natural world, Sam's work is characterized by an adventurous and organic romance. Through human-centered design, Sam aims to contribute to a more sustainable future, working with interdisciplinary teams, advocating for the health of both people and planet, and prioritizing emotional intelligence and strength-based learning.

Sam holds an MFA in Design for Sustainability with a focus on project management from Savannah College of Art and Design. Additionally, Sam earned a BFA in Studio and Digital Art, along with minors in Sociology and Entrepreneurship, from Stetson University. This diverse educational background has equipped Sam with a unique blend of creative and analytical skills, allowing for innovative approaches to outdoor leadership and education design.
